Tegevusaruanne 2023
The British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce (BECC) was established in 1997. It is an active membership-based non-profit organization whose main goal is to improve relationships between the business communities of the UK, Estonia and other countries in order to boost business.
BECC members represent a variety of fields of activity and have specific expertise in their respective fields.
By the end of 2023, there were (40 members/12 personal) members of the BECC. The BECC encourages member companies to cooperate and works in the interests of its members first and foremost. We provide opportunities for our members to find potential clients, investors and business partners in Estonia and the United Kingdom. We organize, in partnership with our members and partners, relevant events - seminars, meetings and business delegations to the UK - which provide members with the opportunity to expand their social and business networks, provide important business information, and provide platforms to discuss important topics. An important objective has been to pay attention to issues of social importance through our involvement with the lobby group, the Foreign Investors Council of Estonia and the British Chambers of
Commerce Global Network and by raising funds for its charity partners. BECC supports Estonian charities through the organization of charity fundraising events.
In 2023, the charity partners were the NGO Women’s Support and Information Center, and the Janno Pussepa Fond. BECC member companies also made substantial direct donations to our charity partners. In the 2023 financial year, the BECC kept operational costs within our means but has struggled to find permanent operational staff due to the lack of funds to offer competitive salaries. Board members have made not insubstantial contributions of their time and resources to secure the shortfall.
