The non-profit organization Tartumaa Public Transport Center was established in 2017.

The main activity of the company is the organization of public bus transport in Tartu County, the organization of ferry and hovercraft connections on the Laaksaare-Piirissaare line, and the provision of social transport services in Tartu County.

Bus transport service is provided by AS GoBus under a public service contract concluded with the Tartu County Government in 2015.

A public service contract has been concluded for the operation of the ferry connection on the Laaksaare-Piirissaare ferry line with AS Kihnu Veeteed.

A public service contract for passenger transport has been concluded for the operation of the hovercraft connection on the Laaksaare-Piirissaare hovercraft line with AS Kihnu Veeteed during the winter period.

Social transport service is provided by Tartaline OÜ.

The non-profit organization had an active board member and two employees during the reporting year: a social transport and supervision specialist; (cid:127) logistics monitoring specialist.

In December, three logisticians were hired, whose task is to provide social transport logistics services to six local governments in Tartu County.

The size of the revenues for the reporting period amounted to 6331 thousand euros, which was distributed as follows: support for road transport organization 5043 thousand euros; (cid:127) support for water transport organization 440 thousand euros; (cid:127) support for social transport pilot project activities 638 thousand euros; (cid:127) income from economic activities 179 thousand euros; (cid:127) income from membership fees 31 thousand euros.

(cid:127) In 2022, the Tartumaa Public Transport Center organized bus line transport service on public lines in Tartu County to the extent of 4,175,217 kilometers, which is 1% more than the previous year. The total number of passengers was 2,095,085, which was significantly higher than the number of passengers in the previous year (growth 22.7%).

620 trips were made on the Laaksaare-Piirissaare ferry line, which is at the same level as the previous year. The number of passengers on the Piirissaare line was 9675.

The Laaksaare-Piirissaare hovercraft line operated at a time when the lake was frozen and the navigation of the ferry line was suspended. 164 trips were made on the hovercraft line and 457 passengers traveled on the line. The number of passengers on the hovercraft line increased significantly (the previous year 304 passengers traveled).

As part of the social transport project, passenger transport took place throughout the year as part of the pilot project of the European

Social Fund measure "Supporting welfare services for participation in the labor market" activity "Welfare services supporting the employment of the elderly, people with special needs and people with coping difficulties and their family members".

The project was funded 85% by the European Social Fund, 15% is the co-financing of local governments.
