1. Cookies
- Cookies are small text files that are installed on the user's computer from the web pages that the user visits, if the user has not disabled the installation of all or some cookies in the settings of his web browser. Cookies make it possible to recognize the user's device when visiting web pages.
- Cookies can be divided according to the time of their installation:
- temporary or session-based cookies - allow to connect the user's activities during the browsing session of one and the same web browser temporarily, i.e. from the opening of the web browser window until it is closed or up to 4 hours after the last page view;
- persistent cookies - are permanently stored on the user's device for the time specified in the cookie and are activated every time the user visits the website from which the cookie was installed.
- Cookies can be divided according to their belonging:
- first-party cookies - originate from the website being viewed. Websites can use these cookies to store information that is reused the next time the website is visited. From the point of view of personal data processing, the first-party cookie installer is the responsible processor (or any of its authorized processors) who manages the visited website;
- third-party cookies - originate, for example, from advertisements of other websites located on the website visited by the user. From the point of view of personal data processing, the third-party cookie installer is the processor in charge, who is different from the administrator of the visited website.
- Cookies can be divided depending on the purpose of their installation:
- essential cookies – essential for navigating the website, using its functions and providing services chosen by users. Without the installation of these cookies, the website and the services requested by the user cannot be provided;
- statistical cookies – collect information about how users use websites, for example, which websites they visit most often and which error messages they receive from websites. Collected information is aggregated and anonymized. The purpose of these cookies is to improve the functioning of websites;
- preference cookies - these cookies enable the user to remember the choices made by the user (for example, language selection) and characteristics (for example, identifying the logged-in user) in order to provide more personal and convenient ways to use the website;
- advertising cookies - these cookies allow to show the user personalized advertising and to carry out market research and analysis using the data obtained about the user's behavior and interests. The resulting data may be shared with advertising networks and advertising service providers.
