INTRODUCTION

The main activities of DHL Logistics Estonia OÜ are international freight forwarding and logistics.

DHL Logistics Estonia OÜ is part of the global Deutsche Post DHL Group, which is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and employs more than 600,000 people in 220 countries and territories.

The company is divided into two business units - DHL Freight and DHL Global Forwarding. DHL Freight handles road and rail freight and provides warehousing and customs services, and DHL Global

Forwarding deals with air and sea freight forwarding.

KEY EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN 2022

The turnover of DHL Logistics Estonia OÜ in 2022 was 69.0 million euros and the annual operating profit from business activities was 1.99 million euros.

The turnover of the DHL Freight business unit was 35.3 million euros and the turnover of the DHL Global Forwarding business unit was 33.7 million euros.

2022 was a volatile year for DHL Logistics Estonia OÜ. At the beginning of the year, the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic were still felt and the year as a whole was affected by the war in Ukraine that began in February.

In air and sea freight, global supply chain problems were felt in the first half of the year and prices were still 2-3 times higher compared to the pre-pandemic period, and there was also a continuing lack of capacity.

Fuel prices remained high and were constantly changing. More cargo planes were used, in the second half of the year the situation of passenger flights began to improve and sending goods by passenger planes gradually activated. In connection with this, air transport delivery times somewhat shortened. The availability of containers in sea freight improved, from the second half of the year sea prices gradually began to fall. Due to the war in Ukraine, rail freight from Asia was interrupted, which increased the share of sea freight.

The growth in turnover of air and sea freight was affected by the rise in prices and their persistence at a high level, as well as the increase in volumes of a couple of larger corporate key clients.

In road freight, the biggest influencer was the high fuel price and the fuel surcharge had to be adjusted weekly, in addition, the European mobility package that came into force in the spring also affected, which increased both costs and prices.

From March 1, all eastbound road and rail freight was interrupted, as well as any eastbound transit traffic. However, from the summer, rail freight from Estonia through

Russia to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan resumed, but only under the central supervision of DHL's Export Control.

The overall growth in turnover was affected by the rise in prices.

As a result of the war in Ukraine, energy prices (electricity & gas) also rose significantly, which significantly increased the share of fixed costs, as well as labor costs.

In conclusion, it can be said that 2022 was a successful year for DHL Logistics Estonia OÜ.

In 2022, a corporate freight management program

EVO (TMS) was implemented and put into use in the Freight unit, which is part of the digital Evolution4You program, and in addition, a corporate cross-unit sales program Sales360 was also put into use.

In 2023, investment in IT solution renewal will continue. In the first half of the year, there are plans to replace the accounting program (ERP). In addition, in the third quarter, the warehouse program (WMS).
