INITIATIVE FOR RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP (IRC)
Annual Activity Report
About the Organisation
The Initiative for Responsible Citizenship (IRC) – formerly Talkamnaija NGO – is a registered non-profit social enterprise dedicated to promoting participatory governance, civic responsibility, and sustainable community development in Nigeria. IRC believes that effective governance grows from active citizen participation and transparent institutional engagement.
Registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), IRC operates an online platform that enables citizens to report community issues, including electrical maintenance failures, waste management lapses, and environmental sanitation violations. By connecting citizens with government institutions, we strengthen accountability, service delivery, and trust in governance processes.
