The Momentin Group, which includes Momentin Eesti OÜ, is one of the largest private capital-based importers and distributors of alcoholic beverages in Finland and the Baltic States, with extensive experience in the sale and marketing of international brands.
The main activity of Momentin Eesti OÜ is the import and wholesale of beers, wines and ciders. The company continues to work with the world's largest brewing conglomerates Anheuser–Busch InBev and Asahi and represents many well-known beer brands in Estonia.
In the 2022-2023 financial year, the company's sales revenue increased by nearly 10% compared to the previous financial year. The operating profit of Momentin Eesti OÜ for the financial year was 128 thousand euros and the net profit was 58 thousand euros. The net profit was affected by the sale of a 10% stake in the Lithuanian subsidiary to the managing director of the subsidiary.
The largest contribution to the company's sales revenue growth was made by the horeca sales channel, which increased by 23%, and the retail sales channel, which increased by 11%. In other, smaller, sales channels, sales revenues were comparable to the previous financial year.
The war in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia have affected the economic environment primarily in the form of high inflation, which has significantly reduced consumer purchasing power and increased the fixed costs of business customers. The aforementioned also affect other external factors, for example, due to the increased cost of raw materials and energy carriers, input prices are continuously increasing.
The company continues its activities to achieve strategic goals, which are to aggressively expand market share in the low-alcohol beverage sales sector, further improve company efficiency, and expand the range in all product groups.
One of the goals of Momentin Eesti OÜ is to increase its market share primarily in the market of low-alcohol premium class beverages and the company has continuously supplemented its assortment for this. In addition to wines, the company is also expanding its assortment in the categories of cocktail drinks and strong alcohol.
During the reporting year, investments were continuously made in new beer equipment and refrigerators for use at the key sales points of horeca and retail sales channels.
Momentin Eesti OÜ has continued to develop the economic software Microsoft 365 Business Central adopted in the previous financial year according to its needs. Modern economic software helps to automate many processes related to the company's activities and thereby increase efficiency.
The larger fixed asset investment is related to the integration of economic software with the IT systems of a new warehouse and logistics partner. As a result of this development, the warehouse service will become more automatic and thus more cost-effective in the following financial years.
In conclusion, we rate the past financial year as satisfactory. In the new financial year, the company will continue to develop according to the budget and strategic goals.
