The primary objectives of the company are to provide environmentally safe waste management services that take into account the wishes of clients and other interested parties. To achieve this goal, the company develops customer-centric, environmentally friendly activities that comply with occupational health and safety requirements. This approach ensures the satisfaction of interested parties and the efficient management of the company. The company has been issued a complex permit number L.

In the reporting year, the company disposed of a total of 63,135 tons of waste and accepted 28,555 tons of waste for composting. The company operates year-round, ensuring waste reception and management services 365 days a year. The company has been issued a certificate for repeated compost made from biodegradable waste by the Material Certification Center SA. The certificate, number 6, was issued on 24.10.2019 and is valid for three years. On 25.11.2022, the company applied for a new compost certificate (certificate number 7), which will be issued in 2023. The company collects landfill gas generated from the waste disposal area and transfers it to Baltic Biogas OÜ, which produces electricity and a small amount of heat. The company has been issued quality management standards ISO 9001:2015, environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015, and occupational health and safety ISO 45001. In the reporting year, Tallinna Jäätmete Taaskasutuskeskus AS received the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) registration, intended for assessing, improving, and providing relevant information to the public and other interested parties about an organization's environmental performance. By the time of approving the 2022 financial year report, the EMAS certificate has been extended for the next 2023 financial year. The company is a member of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Estonian Association of Environmental Management, and the Estonian Circular Economy Business Association. The company's activities are based on the European Parliament and Council Directive (EU) 2018/850. This directive regulates the landfilling of untreated municipal waste and separately collected waste, which impacts the company's economic activities. Currently, the company uses eight disposal areas. During the financial year, the sorting of materials from the disposal area increased, and the sale of material to other European countries increased, thereby ensuring greater recycling of materials and reducing the amount of waste disposed of during the financial year. The company does not receive any subsidies, including from the city of Tallinn. The company's business revenues for the financial year were 13,855 thousand euros (31.12.2021: 15,061 thousand euros), with a business loss of 710 thousand euros (31.12.2021: business profit 1,407 thousand euros), net loss of 1,203 thousand euros (31.12.2021: net profit 947 thousand euros). The loss is due to the court decision based on unpaid pollution charges for the years 2018-2019, amounting to 913,947 euros, unpaid interest calculated on the pollution charge, amounting to 421,111 euros, and calculated income tax on interest, amounting to 105,278 euros. In total, 1,440,336 euros. As of 31.12.2022, the total assets were 24,987 thousand euros (31.12.2021: 24,395 thousand euros). Compared to the previous year, current assets increased by 592 thousand euros. Short-term liabilities are 3,055 thousand euros (31.12.2021: 1,714 thousand euros). The total labor costs of Tallinna Jäätmete Taaskasutuskeskus AS were 2,828 thousand euros (31.12.2021:2,599 thousand euros), and the average number of employees was 95 (31.12.2022: 89). The financial results for 2022 are as follows: Sales revenues were 13,855 thousand euros, and the net profit/loss was -1,203 thousand euros. Current assets were 16,357 thousand euros.
