The Company Story
Karjalasma is a community-based non-profit organisation working in a small rural manor with the aim of supporting local life, food producers and visitors' experience. Our activities are based on local heritage, practical hospitality and the desire to create functional channels between local people and guests.
Many small producers face limited sales opportunities and a volatile purchasing community, and there are not always the necessary conditions and regularity in local markets. There are also significantly more local resources and landscapes that could be used to support visits and local economies if they are consciously involved.
Karelama creates places where local food reaches people and where products and people find each other through market days and events. We also manage the manor and the surrounding land in such a way that they offer opportunities for events, rural tourism and everyday community activities. It is important for manufacturers to have consistent access to buyers and for visits to support local services and the living environment.
We are differentiated by local focus and community management: our activities are aimed at increasing the market opportunities of small producers and implementing the local rural manor and its surroundings for the benefit of the community. The aim is to create a more stable sales environment, more lively market days and more sustainable use in a way that supports both people and the local environment.
