The Company Story
We are a non-profit gallery dedicated to making contemporary Estonian art and Soviet-era informal art visible. Our work focuses on providing the curator with context and clarity so that the works can talk about both their historical background and today's meaning.
Many of the works created in this area remain on a narrow circle due to low visibility and fragmented access, and physical exhibition rooms are often seasonal or temporary. This limits the possibilities of artists and makes it difficult for both the local public and the distant interested to access the works.
We create spaces and events to counter this situation where the work is visible and available - from temporary exhibitions and pop-up rooms to more permanent online shops and public festivals. This allows artists to show their work, participate in the community, and collectors and interested parties to find and acquire work outside traditional channels.
We are distinguished by the emphasis of specialized, historically informed curatorialism and hybrid behaviour: Summer Villa Oliver, seasonal exhibitions and annual festivals create repeated meetings with artists, audiences and partners. Through this, we try to increase the visibility of local practitioners and create consistent public access to Estonian art.
