AS Monotal was established in 1992 and the main activity of the company is the import, retail and wholesale of alcoholic products.

In 2022, 99% of AS Monotal's total sales turnover consisted of the sale of alcoholic beverages. Compared to the previous financial year, sales revenue decreased by over 30%. The main market continues to be the Republic of Estonia with over 94% and nearly 6% of the goods were sold to the Republic of Latvia.

The main partners for goods supplies have been suppliers from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. At the moment, due to the war in Ukraine, the situation has changed. The company is reducing purchases from Russia and Belarus and increasing goods purchases from other countries.

The war in Ukraine has affected the import of goods and the entire logistics chain. Freight transport has significantly increased in price, delivery times have been extended. Today, restricted goods imports are taking place from both Russia and Belarus, but there is a gradual reduction in imports from these countries and replacement with goods from other countries.
