OÜ Tallink Fast Food was registered in the commercial register on 05.08.2019. OÜ Tallink Fast Food is 100% owned by AS Tallink Grupp.
Tallink Fast Food opened its first Burger King fast food restaurants in April 2020. In two and a half years, we have expanded the restaurant network in all three Baltic countries and currently operate a total of 18 restaurants - eight in Estonia, five in Latvia and five in Lithuania. In 2022, we opened four new restaurants, two in Estonia and two in Latvia. The restaurant opened in Laagri, Tallinn is the first Burger King restaurant in Estonia with a drive thru function, where customers can order food conveniently without leaving their car. In Latvia, there are currently two restaurants with a drive thru option and
one in Lithuania.
At the beginning of 2022, our economic activity was strongly affected by the restrictions resulting from the Covid pandemic, as people's movement was restricted and eating in restaurants was prohibited. The war in Ukraine that broke out in February and the inability of RBI (Restaurant Brands International) as a franchisor to cease business operations in Russia led to a lot of negative attitudes and media coverage, and therefore a decline in turnover in the first months of the war. The economic results of the second half of the year were negatively affected by extremely high electricity prices.
Our goal is to always offer our customers fresh, tasty burgers without additives and preservatives. Every year we bring several new products to the market, in 2022 the most successful product line were burgers with mozzarella patties introduced in the spring, which were very warmly received by our customers. We will definitely surprise our customers with new and interesting flavors in the future. Burger King contributes to the support of Estonian sports by being among the supporters of the Kalev/Cramo basketball team in the 2022/2023 season. For the safety of our customers, we distributed 10,000 reflectors for free in our restaurants.
We continue with development activities in 2023 to open new restaurants in all countries and the main focus of the following developments is mainly on opening drive thru restaurants to make ordering food even more convenient for customers. To improve the financial result, we focus on winning new customers and saving costs.
The sales revenue for the reporting year was 7 858 5393 euros and the net loss was 3 131 5242 euros. The personnel costs for the reporting year amounted to 2 417 879 euros and the average number of employees was 133 people.
