's activity report 2022
The main activity of the Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Center (HNRK) is to provide outpatient and inpatient specialist medical care and other related health and social services. The annual report is presented in a consolidated form together with the subsidiary HNRK Abivahendikeskus OÜ and HNRK
Support Fund SA results. The activity in 2022 was influenced by two factors that had a significant impact on the conduct and outcome of treatment: the general change in the economic situation and the associated significant increase in input prices, and the aftermath of the spread of the coronavirus, which led to long-term outbreaks of infection among staff and patients. The main activity, the provision of rehabilitation services, increased to 5,727,429 euros in 2202, in 2021 it was 4,798,223 euros. Rehabilitation and rehabilitation services were provided in the hospital in 2022 for a total of 25,417 bed-days, of which EHK funded 23,607 or 92.88% of bed-days in 2022. Both hospital staff, equipment, premises and the general economic situation continue to enable the provision of high-quality rehabilitation and rehabilitation services at a modern level and opportunities for staff and organizational development activities. The primary focus in staff learning and development activities was the learning and development activities of treatment staff, including.
participation in foreign conferences and improving management quality through coaching management, totaling 113,000 euros. Research and development activities in 2022 were reflected in the presentation of evidence-based treatment results at three international conferences, of which the HNRK won the main prize at the "Spinalis 2022" annual conference in Stockholm for the poster presentation "Therapists' user experience and suggestions for incorporating high-tech devices into clinical practice – a qualitative study." An important role in modern rehabilitation is technology and keeping it up to date. In 2022, a procurement was carried out to acquire a new generation walking robot. Another important development activity took place in the treatment work to support daily planned treatment - the completion of the third stage of the HNRK activity park and the completion of the entire activity park in November. In 2022, HNRK successfully underwent accreditation according to the EQUASS international quality standard for social services, obtaining a certificate for the next three years.
The biggest challenges in ensuring the continuity of HNKR as a monoprofile rehabilitation hospital are the recruitment of treatment staff, especially doctors and top specialists, and finding a funding model suitable for a monoprofile hospital. Discussions on finding a funding model suitable for HNRK continued in 2022.
In 2023, EHK will offer treatment funding options to hospital network hospitals.
