Operating environment and its development

Knowledge, skills, creativity, and common values are the most important guarantees for the survival of society and the nation. The future of Estonia, the coping and satisfaction of members of society largely depend on the education of each resident. The transition to a knowledge-based economy means a constantly growing impact of education and research activities on Estonia's economic competitiveness.

The main objective of the current Estonian lifelong learning system is to create learning opportunities for all Estonians throughout their lives that meet their needs and abilities, to ensure them opportunities for dignified self-realization in society, work, and family life.

As a continuation of the Estonian lifelong learning strategy, the Estonian education sector development strategy 2035 has been developed, where the availability of education, the integration of levels and types of education, the flexibility of the education system, and the quality of education are important. The new education strategy aims to create opportunities and conditions for lifelong learning, paying attention to the variety and availability of learning opportunities, smooth movement between levels and types of education. The learner's responsibility, learning desire and habits, and learner-centered learning principles are important. Due to rapid changes in the labor market, the education system must support the rapid retraining and further training of people of all ages and provide education that meets labor market needs. The overall goal of the Education Strategy 2035 is to achieve that Estonians have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that enable them to realize themselves in personal life, work, and society and support the promotion of Estonian life.

Based on the Estonian education strategy, the goal of the Audentes School Foundation as a school owner (hereinafter the Foundation) is to be a reliable partner in shaping a person's diverse and balanced development path. We adhere to the principle that knowledge and physical activity must be balanced and that the harmony of body and soul strengthens a person's health and spirit. In the cooperation of the entire organization, we strive to ensure that our students develop into independently thinking, initiative and cooperative, creative, open, and positive-minded people who are ready for independent life and to contribute to society. The aim of the teaching and upbringing process in the Foundation's schools is to create conditions for the realization of these goals. The Foundation's activities do not have significant environmental and social impacts, nor do currency fluctuations directly affect the activities, as settlements are made in euros. The system of state funding for schools and education grants has remained stable.

Main areas of activity

The main area of activity of the Foundation is the provision of services related to the education sector and the activity is seasonal from September to June due to the nature of educational and sports activities. The main activities are the provision of educational services in basic school and gymnasium and in hobby school. In the gymnasium stage, education is offered in an international school based on the IB education diploma program, in a private school in the form of e-learning in e-gymnasium, and in a sports gymnasium in a combined form of study created for student athletes in Tallinn and Otepää. In the hobby school, education is offered in groups of pre-school children of different ages and in hobby circles of different content.

Revenues, expenses, and personnel

The Foundation's total revenues for the reporting period were 8.66 million euros and total operating expenses were 8.60 million euros. The average number of employees of the Foundation, converted to full-time, was 136 employees. During the reporting period, the Foundation's labor costs amounted to 5.03 million euros. The Management Board consisted of two members during the reporting year, the number of members of the Management Board did not change during the financial year. The Foundation's Supervisory Board consisted of four members during the reporting year, the number of members of the Supervisory Board did not change during the financial year. No remuneration was paid to the members of the Supervisory Board for the performance of their duties and no benefits were made.

Major events of the financial year

The main activities and events of the reporting year were: 1. Planned organization of educational and hobby activities in Audentes Private School (basic school and gymnasium); 2. Planned organization of educational and sports activities in Audentes Sports Gymnasium; 3. Planned organization of educational and hobby activities in Audentes Hobby Center (groups of pre-school children and various hobby circles); 4. Planned organization of education and hobby activities in Audentes International School (internationally accredited curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program); 5. Accreditation of the International School IB curriculum and extension of the activity license for the years 2022-2027 6. Completion of the new development plan of the Sports Gymnasium for the years 2022-2025; 7. The number of students participating in the hobby school groups increased by 7%, the number of basic school students increased by 2%, the number of e-gymnasium students increased by 48% and the number of international school students increased by 62%; 8.
