AS Kroonpress is a high-tech, innovative company that was the first printing house in Estonia to accept printing materials from newspapers over a remote network. In the 2000s, there was a significant expansion into the commercial printing sector and many clients were added from the Baltics, Norway, Sweden, Finland and

Denmark. The focus in recent years has been on entering the packaging production market. Today, packaging is produced for the Estonian, Lithuanian and Finnish markets.

AS Kroonpress offers a full service to publishers and commercial print clients - digital design material arrives at the printing house electronically and the finished product is transported to the ordered destination. The most influential event of the financial year was the energy crisis, which led to a significant increase in the prices of materials used for printing. Main materials such as printing plates, paper and colors continued to rise throughout the 2022 calendar year, and the overall market was most affected by the almost doubling of paper prices compared to corona-era prices. Previous large-scale closures of paper mills created a situation where fewer major players remained on the market and demand/supply was better balanced, for a moment. AS

Kroonpress delegated price increases to customers, but such large changes negatively affected the overall volume of orders. Customers closed publications that had become unprofitable due to price increases, and the advertising print segment continued to order in smaller volumes to stay within their advertising budgets. The turnover for the 2022/23 financial year was 33.9 million euros, which is 21% more than last year. The increase in turnover has come from price increases to existing customers and added packaging turnover. The turnover of the packaging sector multiplied compared to the previous financial year, but there is still a lot of room for growth to reach the full capacity of the existing machinery.

The previous financial year's operating loss of 59 thousand euros was replaced by an operating loss of 1.5 million euros. More than half of the operating loss was made up of the packaging sector's result. On the cost side, AS Kroonpress is ready for a significantly larger volume of packaging sales and rapid turnover growth is
