Activity report 2022

The main activity of the company Laikumi is the processing and consolidation of forest material with specially designed technology into an intermediate warehouse. The company participated in the state procurement forest processing competition in the 2021 financial year and won three five-year forest material processing contracts. Necessary equipment has been purchased and leased for the work. The machinery consists of four harvesters and three forwarders.

The machinery includes Sampo HR, Sampo HRx6, Prosilva and John Deere 12/70 and forwarders Sampo FR and 2 John

Deere 10/10 g-d. For transporting forwarders and harvesters from one site to another, a Scania owned by Laikumi is used with a trailer - this significantly increases operational efficiency and time savings. In addition, a new Volvo was purchased in 2022 with a forest transport trailer for more efficient transport of our own forest material.

In the financial year, a decision was made and new John Deere forwarders were ordered, which will be used in 2023.

In the summer period, we carry out maintenance of cultures, establishment of new cultures and cutting of shrubs.

In the financial year, we also started applying for the FSC certificate. The FSC label guarantees reliability and international recognition for wood, which helps to open new markets. The supply of wood on the market exceeds demand and competition is tight. However, the demand for certified wood is greater than the supply. Thus, the FSC certificate gives forest managers and processors a significant market advantage.

Turnover for the financial year 5,875,353 euros. The average number of employees during the reporting period was twenty-five (25). The average salary is 2000 euros per month.
