General information
The Estonian Professional Fishermen's Association was established on 26.09.2005 and is a producer organization engaged in the sale of fishery products.
The objectives of the association's activities are through the joint economic activities of the association's members: (cid:127) development of rational fishing plans; organization of rational use of marine resources; (cid:127) development of fishing methods that would promote fishing and organization and planning of the sale of their members' production; (cid:127) development of production sales conditions, price stabilization, adjustment of supply to demand in terms of both quality and quantity; (cid:127) protection of fishing activities, organization and development of joint activities of fishermen, improvement of the organization of the fishery market; support and promotion of the economic interests of its members.
The Estonian Professional Fishermen's Association is recognized as a producer organization and is recognized in both sprat and smelt.
In 2022, no major changes occurred in business activities. The processing, storage and sale of fish caught by members, which has been the main activity, continued.
The annual volume of cooperation with coastal fishermen remained the same. The joint project also cooperates with two other sprat and smelt fishermen's producer organizations
Works with the Paldiski fish component factory, which adds added value to the association. In 2022, the war starting in Ukraine affected the activities, causing temporary momentary stops in the work of the members and the accompanying rapid growth of inflation.
The major investments in 2022 are the construction of a PVC hall and the establishment of a solar park, the latter aiming to reduce the environmental impact of the association. Additional investments were made to upgrade production and processing equipment to more modern ones.
The economic activity of the association is sustainable, in 2023 the cooperation will continue with the set goals of the joint economic activities of the association's members. The ongoing war in Ukraine and the associated risks are taken into account in the activities.
